5th German-American Mobility Dialogue

Join us for our 5th German-American Mobility Dialogue: Resilience and Sustainability in Transportation – Conflict or Smart Combination?

Resilience and Sustainability in Transportation – Conflict or Smart Combination?

Recent multi-crisis events – whether pandemic, climate change, or war – are calling for more robust while agile responses: Supply chains are much talked about at the moment, for products, materials, or resources. And the automotive industry is no exception. Component manufacturing – such as EV batteries – contributes greatly to the carbon footprint of automobiles, while those, however, cannot be delivered because microchips are missing.

Driving has become much more expensive because petroleum products are in short supply. The alternative energy and zero-emission promise of electric vehicles is scrutinized because some materials are sourced under extreme conditions. Even shared autonomous shuttles, often regarded as an opportunity to make public transport more flexible and equitable, are questioned in view of health concerns during the pandemic.

Therefore, the question arises if resilience and sustainability can be aligned in transportation and the related supply chain.

Let’s find answers to these questions

  • How do we combine robustness and efficiency, or are these contradictions?
  • How do we make our processes and transportation system resilient and sustainable at the same time?
  • What role may digitalization play here?

What you can expect at the event:

  • Executive keynote on mobility & resilience in a transatlantic context
  • Panel discussion with influential mobility stakeholders from the academia, industry, and the public sector
  • Interactive breakout sessions where you get to shape the discussion
  • Limitless networking with experts in the Silicon Valley and German mobility scene
