Meet the Speakers

Imene Abid

Women in Entrepreneurship 2024 Cohort

I am Imene, the founder of Goodlead, and I am on a mission to democratize skill-based volunteering in Germany.

Since I was young, I was actively involved in the nonprofit sector. After graduating from university, I spent a few years working as an IT and Data Science Consultant at a fintech company in Germany. I soon realized that I wanted to apply my skills to support nonprofits. This led me back to the nonprofit world, where I now split my time between building Goodlead and working part-time with Greenpeace on data-related projects.

When I first moved to Germany, I was surprised by how limited the opportunities were for professionals to volunteer their expertise, whether in IT, HR, or finance.. to help nonprofits tackle operational challenges. At the same time, companies are under growing pressure from both employees and stakeholders to take a more active role in social responsibility.

That’s why I’m building Goodlead: to bridge this gap by enabling companies to empower their employees to volunteer their skills for a bigger social footprint.

My work explores a niche yet highly nuanced concept: developing novel soil systems tailored for urban agriculture and landscaping. The aim is to establish a unique and scalable pathway to address food and nutrient security, framed within the principles of the circular bioeconomy.
