Join us for an evening reception at the Goethe-Institut San Francisco, hosted by the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH)
Meet representatives from German universities, funding agencies, and the German Consulate General in an exhibit fair format designed for networking and Q&A. Discover opportunities for study, funding, and research in Germany while exploring the vibrant innovation ecosystems of Germany and the Bay Area. This reception is a unique chance to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new pathways for transatlantic collaboration and innovation.
Mix and mingle with representatives from German universities, funding agencies, and the German Consulate General, alongside members of the German science community in the Bay Area.
In an exhibit fair format, representatives will be available to answer your questions and offer direct networking opportunities—whether you are exploring study, funding, or research collaboration options in Germany, or looking to expand your professional network locally.
The reception highlights the vibrant research and innovation ecosystems of Germany and the Bay Area and creates a space to explore new pathways for transatlantic collaboration. It is an excellent occasion to connect, exchange ideas, and discover opportunities for innovation and research across borders.

5pm registration & mix and mingle
6:00 pm: Welcoming remarks by Theo Kidess, Consul General of Germany in San Francisco and Zahar Barth-Manzoori, Director of the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH).
6:10 pm: Short introductions from the funding organizations German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: networking reception and fair
Exhibitors: German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Research Foundation (DFG), Technical University Berlin, Technical University Munich. Light refreshments will be served.
